Original Name: Deepak Adhikari
Date of Birth: 25 December 1982
Dev was born in a small village, Mahisha of West Midnapore.  His primary education was in Chandrokona, a town in West Midnapore.  Dev went to Mumbai to try his luck in Hindi movies.  He did acting course there. Dev’ debut movie was ‘Agnisapath’ which was a box office flop movie. In 2007, Dev got a chance in movie ‘I Love You’ in the male lead role. This was the first movie as Dev, not Deepak Adhikari. Change in name proved lucky, ‘I Love You’ was a hit movie of 2007.

Bengal film industry found a new hero in Dev who can perform in both romantic and action movies and moreover who can dance. In romantic love movies, dance sequences are very much essential. Normally Bengali movie actors are not very comfortable in dancing. Dev is a good dancer.

The movie ‘Challenge’ has established Dev as a handsome actor in Bengal movie industry.

In 2009, two movies of Dev, Poran Jaye Jolis Re and Challenge were super hit. In both the movies the, on screen chemistry of Dev and Subhasree worked nicely.
