Year 2015 and Bengali films which have done descent business in this year


Overall business of Bengali films in year 2015 is not bad. Rituparna Sengupta and Prosenjit is still dominating the industry while Srabanti Chatterjee and Dev are becoming more matured day by day. Future of Bengali films will depend on them. Churni Ganguly is the new addition to the list of directors who make good movies. Koel Mallick has become very choosy about films and now she is doing limited films. Dev is doing fully commercial as well as good movies but Jeet is yet to venture on critical characters. Ritwick Chakraborty, as usual performed well in the year 2015.

Kadambari

The film is based on biopic on Kadambari Debi who was Rabindranath Tagore's sister-in-law. The film was praised by audiences.

Both Dev and Srabanti's romantic performance are appreciated by audiences. Box office report of the film is good.

A different type of story but impact in box office is not very prominent.

Bheetu

A film based on psycho story around two sisters whose inter-personal relationship and their outlook towards life.

One of the Bengali best films in year 2015.
