Roopa Ganguly hospitalised

Actress and BJP Rajya Sabha MP Roopa Ganguly is hospitalised with blood clots in the brain tissues on 23 December (Friday) at about 4.00 PM. It is suspected that Roopa is ill due to cerebral attack.

State BJP vice president Joyprakash Majumdar said: “She was admitted to the AMRI hospital in Salt Lake at around 4 pm on Friday, after complaining of severe headache and partial loss of vision.” 

It is learnt that doctors attending to Roopa Ganguly have advised her to take rest and currently she is kept under observation.

Roopa Ganguly was born on 25 November 1966 and she has worked in Bengali, Hindi, Kannada, Telugu and Oriya films. Roopa has also worked in TV serials.

In 2015, Roopa Ganguly joined Bharatiya Janata Party and in West Bengal Assembly elections 2016, Roopa Ganguly lost from Howrah North to Trinamool Congress candidate Laxmi Ratan Shukla.


Roopa was nominated to the Rajya Sabha in October 2016 in place of cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu.
