Release date of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film Padmavati has been voluntarily deferred. The film was set to hit the screens on 01 December.
The new release date will be announced afterwards, once the "requisite clearances" are in place.
The actors of the film Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor are facing massive agitation from various groups. According to them the film distorts history and falsely portrays a relationship between Rajput queen Padmini and Muslim ruler Alauddin Khilji.
Censor Board chief Prasoon Joshi had slammed the makers of film Padmavati for allowing the film to be screened before obtaining a certificate from the board.
