CPI (M) MLA and former state minister Sushanta Ghosh is now in Alipore central jail in connection with skeleton case in Garbeta, West Midnapore. The case against him is non-bailable so he had to spend his Diwali in jail.
Kanimozhi, daughter of DMK president M. Karunanidhi is jailed for her alleged role in the 2G spectrum allocation scam. Karunanidhi tried his best to get bail for her daughter so that she can spend the Diwali with family at home but was denied bail.
Former Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa is under the judicial custody till 3 November. He has been under judicial custody since 15 October this year. The charges against B S Yeddyurappa is illegal denotfication of land in and around Bangalore for monetary gains. The court has rejected his bail plea. BJP leader Sushma Swaraj met him in the jail with Diwali sweets.
Former chief of the Organising Committee of Commonwealth Games 2010 Suresh Kalmadi is now in Tihar Jail in Delhi.
BJP’s former strategist Sudheendra Kulkarni is also in Tihal jail, Delhi in connection with cash for vote scam. Sushma Swaraj met Kulkarni in the jail before Diwali.
Former telecom minister A Raja is also in Tihar jail in connection with 2G spectrum scam.
