Film Happy New Year revolves around six losers who decide to change their fortune as they beliece that every loser gets a chance to become winner. The losers disguise themselves as dancers and take part in an international dance competition in Dubai to rob a locker full of diamonds. The locker belongs to the villain of the film played by Jacky Shroff.

Charlie is one of the six losers and the role is essayed by Shah Rukh Khan. Charlie is a street fighter and Mohini is a bar dancer. Deepika Padukone is Mohini in film Happy New Year. Mohini is the teacher of the gang who teaches dance to the other members.

Abhishekh Bachchan is a 'tapori' in film Happy New Year and the role played by him is Nandu Bhide from Sangam Chawl in Mumbai. Nandu drinks a lot. Mohini and Nandu have grown up together.

Review of the film Happy New Year

Farah Khan's multi-starrer film Happy New Year is a fully entertainment film with lot of dance, drama, romance. One of the dialogues of Shah Rukh Khan in the film Happy New Year - "Duniya mein do tarah ke log hote hain winners and losers, lekin zindagi har loser ko ek mauka zaroor deti hai jisme woh winner ban sakta hai," is already a hit one.

Deepika Padukone’s entry in the film Happy New Year may remind Mohini of blockbuster film Tezaab where Madhuri Dixit’s character name was also Mohini. In film Chennai Express, Deepika Parukone talked in a mix of Hindi and Tamil. In this film Happy New Year, Deepika has delivered her dialogue in an interesting mix of Marathi and Hindi.
