Radhika Apte is an uneducated infertile village woman in film Parched

Radhika Apte
Film Parched will be released on 23 September 2016 and the film is already in news for few of the bold scenes of Radhika Apte although the story line of the film is different from the average Bollywood Hindi films. Film Parched is written and directed by Leena Yadav and produced by Ajay Devgan under his banner Ajay Devgn Films. Parched is premiered at the Special Presentations section of the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival.

Radhika Apte revealed her role in film Parched. Radhika plays an uneducated, infertile village woman in film Parched and her name in the film is Lajjo. Lajjo is uneducated and marries at a very early age. Like many of our rural women, Lajjo thinks the sole purpose of her life is giving her husband a child. Later Lajjo finds out that she is infertile. It makes her feel upset and worthless. Lajjo has a different shade of mind and as per Radhika: "She has no self-confidence and at the same time she is very open about what she feels and very magical and full of life".

Radhika Apte is very happy with her role and feels that the film is about a journey of self-discovery of Lajjo.
