Shah Jahan Regency

Srijit Mukherji's film Shah Jahan Regency is based on Shankar’s iconic novel Chowringhee. After Rajkahini, Srijit Mukherji and Rituparna Sengupta are working together once again. Film Shah Jahan Regency will be released on January 18. Co-starts of Rituparna in film Shah Jahan Regency are Abir Chatterjee, Swastika Mukherjee, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Anjan Dutt, Anirban Bhattacharya, Rudranil Ghosh, Babul Supriyo, Rittika Sen and Mamata Shankar.

Aha Re

Rituparna Sengupta and Bangladeshi actor Arfin Shuvoo are in the lead role of this romantic film. A rich Muslim chef from Dhaka and a middle class Hindu home cook, using their passion for food and culinary arts, start a new journey of finding love. Arfin plays the role of Muslim chef and Ritu is the Hindu home cook in film Aha Re.

Bela Shuru

Another Shiboprasad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy family drama film. Both Shiboprasad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy claim that this is not a sequel of film Bela Seshe. Entire cast of film Bela Seshe will be seen in film Bela Shuru.

Damini

Rituparna Sengupta is playing the role of a gun-toting top female police officer in upcoming film Damini of Riingo. Rituparna's character in the film Damini is loosely based on former IPS officer Kran Bedi. Bratya Basu will be seen in a negative role in ‘Damini’. The film will be released during first quarter of next year.


Limelight

Rituparna will also be seen in a double role in Reshmi Mitra’s next movie Limelight. Co-starts of Ritu in film Limelight are Jeetu Kamal, Sreela Majumder, Soumitro Banerjee and Arjun Chakraborty in pivotal roles. The plot of the film Limelight revolves around a junior artist Archana who belongs to a lower middle class family. Archana dreams to become popular as her idol actress Srimoyee Sen. They have a few similarities in their looks. Srimoyee one day meets with an accident and was forced to take one year rest. To retain her stardom in the industry, she convinces Archana to live her life for the time period in return for a hefty amount. As Srimoyee leaves for USA for treatments Archana faces the hardship to adjust with her life. When a popular actor Ayanjeet falls for her, Archana starts to think of herself as Srimoyee and relationship develops between them. One day the real Srimoyee returns. This is the climax of the film Limelight.

Mukherjee Dar Bou

Debutant director Pritha Chakraborty’s upcoming film Mukherjee Dar Bou is based on the relationship between a woman and her mother-in-law. Under the banner of Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy’s Windows Production, the emotional family drama is currently being shot in and around Kolkata.  Co-stars of Rituparna in film Mukherjee Dar Bou includes Konineeca Banerjee, Anasua Majumdar, Badshah Moitra, Aparajita Auddy and Biswanath Basu in pivotal roles. While Anasua will be seen as the mother-in-law, Koneenica as the daughter-in-law, Rituparna plays a psychologist in the film.

Labangalata

Shooting of the film Labangalata has already started. The film is directed by Bappaditya Bandyopadhyay and the film is based on Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay's classic novel ‘Rajani’.  Indraneil Sengupta and Alamgir will essay the other central characters in the film Labangalata.



Bidrohini

Rituparna will play one of the leads in Sandip Chowdhury’s upcoming movie Bidrohini. Co-stars of Ritu in this film are Rishi Kaushick, Anindo Sarkar, Santana Basu, Arunima Sen, Sonali Chowdhury and others. The plot of the film Bidrohini revolves around Kiran, played by Rituparna who raises her voice against the mental and physical torture once inflicted upon her sister. Shooting started.
