Kushumitar
Gappo is a film on Bengali woman footballer Kushumita, who hails from
Sandeshkhali in the Sundarbans. Kushumita has represented Bengal
and India team.

leg of Kushumita was operated and she was admitted in a government hospital.
Kushumita was injured while playing for Bengal team against Kerala in national
games. Kushumita’s father had to arrange money for the operation at the cost of
his mortgaging his home.
The
distressed condition of the stopper back of Bengal women’s football team
created storm in social networking sites. Bengal musician arranged an
exhibition match to raise funds for Kushumita Das. Kushumita was admitted in
woodburn ward of SSKM hospital. Many people of Bengal including players helped
Kushumita.
Film
Kushumitar Goppo is based on the life of the footballer.
