Actress Shweta Basu Prasad of Makdee fame arrested for alleged prostitution

National Award winning actress Shweta Basu Prasad of ‘Makdee’ fame was arrested for allegedly involved in a prostitution racket in Hyderabad. Shweta won the prestigious National Film Award for Best Child Artist for her performance in the film Makdee in 2002. Shweta Basu Prasad also worked in National Award winning film Iqbal. Shweta was arrested from a high end hotel at the Banjara Hills in Hyderabad and report says that Shweta Basu Prasad was found in a compromising position from the hotel room.

Shweta is a film as well as TV serial actress. Presently Shweta is working in Telugu films.


Shweta Basu Prasad was born in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand and moved to Mumbai when she was a child. Shweta’s mother is Sarmishta Basu – Bengali while her father is Anuj from Bihar.
