Geetasree Chhabi Bandopadhyay died

Geetasree Chhabi Bandopadhyay of West Bengal died yesterday, 23 May 2012 at a private nursing home in Kolkata. She was 89 years old. Geetasree Chhabi Bandopadhyay was a Kirtan singer of Bengal.


Chhabi Bandopadhyay was unmarried. Chhabi Bandopadhyay recorded her first song when she was 10 years old. Chhabi Bandopadhyay also sang devotional songs, songs of Atulprasad, D L Roy and Rajanikanta Sen. She sang songs in Bengali films also.

Karisma Kapoor and Sanjay Kapur are heading towards divorce

Bollywood’s blue eyed girl Karisma Kapoor’s married life was never a smooth one. Karisma faced lot of troubles in her married life with Sanjay Kapur. Karisma is passing through a critical phase of her life. She is back to Bollywood and started second innings there as an actress. Recent report is that Sanjay Kapur wants divorce from Karisma as he is now interested on Priya Sachdev. Priya Sachdev is the ex wife of New York-based hotelier Vikram Chatwal. Shilpa Shetty delivered a baby boy

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty has delivered a baby boy today at early morning.  Dr. Kiran Coelho at a healthcare hospital in Khar, Mumbai delivered the baby. Shilpa Shetty’s delivery date was due on 28 May 2012. On Sunday morning Shilpa Shetty was in the hospital for normal check up but she was admitted immediately as the process had started by that time. Shilpa Shetty's baby boy has reached the earth few days earlier.

Raj Kundra, Shilpa Shetty’s husband was with Shilpa from that time at that hospital. After delivery he returned home. Family members of Raj Kundra and Shilpa’s mother and sister were present in the hospital at the time of her delivery. The time of delivery is not known.

The baby and Shilpa Shetty are doing fine.

Pakistani actress Veena Malik was expected in the city on Friday. Veena is working on the Kannada film based on Silk Smitha’s life. Media were ready to meet the actress but the press meet was postponed as the actress is facing a CBI enquiry related to her visa.

As per rule any foreigner needs permission for every state they visit in India. The shooting spots of the film in which Veena is the leading actress are Goa and Karnataka. Veena Malik has got permission for Goa only. To get the permission to visit Karnataka, Veena needs permission and that’s why she went to the CBI office in Bangalore.

Taruni Sachdev died on Monday in Nepal plane crash

Child artist Taruni Sachdev was among the 13 ill fated Indians who died on a plane crash on 14 May 2012 in Nepal. Taruni Sachdev, aged 14 years acted in Amitabh Bachchan starrer film ‘Paa’. Taruni and her mother were travelling in the private plane and her mother is also dead.

Taruni was a child artist who had worked in many films of South and also participated in TV shows. Taruni Sachdev also worked in many commercials like Rasna ad.

Both Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan have expressed their shock on the death of Taruni Sachdev. Taruni played the role of a school friend of Amitabh Bachchan in Paa.

Mrinal Sen is willing to cast Soumitra Chatterjee and Naseeruddin Shah in his new film.

Today is the birthday of great international famous filmmaker Mrinal Sen. Mrinal Sen was born on 14 May 1923 at Faridpur, presently in Bangladesh. Mrinal Sen studied at Scottish Church College and then in Calcutta University.

In 1955 Mrinal Sen made his first film Raatbhor. The film was a flop. Second film of Mrinal Sen is Neel Akasher Niche and this film was praised by critics. Talent and potentiality of Mrinal Sen was exposed in his third film Baishey Shravan.

Now Prasenjit is all set to start his second innings in Bollywood. His comeback film is Shanghai directed by Dibakar Banerjee. Leading female character of the film is played by Kalki Koechlin. There is a lip lock sequence between Prasenjit and Kalki Koechlin  in the film.

Poonam Pandey’s debut film I Am 18 is a false statement by the actress

Poonam Pandey is always in hot news. She is either uploading her nude pictures or making hot statements. Recently Poonam Pandey made a statement that after rejecting 30 Bollywood films, she has accepted the offer to play the lead role in I Am 18. Poonam Pandey claimed that the film would an erotic film and she will appear in many bold scenes. Poonam Pandey further claimed that so far as boldness is concerned, sky is the limit.

Poonam said that Amit Saxena of Jism fame is the director of the film. There was a rumour also that Poonam Pandey is taking 1 crore for the film I Am 18.

A recent statement from Amit Saxena is very interesting. It is a heart-breaking statement for Poonam Pandey fans. Amit said that he has meet with the team for couple of times but nothing is confirmed yet. Amit Saxena said that the project is not yet finalised.
