Bengali singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya left his home town Kanpur and reached Mumbai with a dream to become playback singer in Hindi films. Initial days of Abhijeet Bhattacharya in Mumbai were very tough. In those days, Abhijeet Bhattacharya used to stay at a rented house in Wadala near Dadar in Mumbai. Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya used to meet music directors of Hindi film industry for a break and perform on stage at different functions. At that time his contact number was a telephone number of a Paan Shop at wadala. One day he received a message from the paan shop owner that someone has called in that phone and wanted Abhijeet Bhattacharya to meet him urgently. The caller left his phone number for Abhijeet Bhattacharya. The caller was famous music director Rahul DevBurman. Abhijeet Bhattacharya got his first break in Hindi playback singing in the debut film of Dev Anand’s son. From the first half of 90’s, career graph of Bengali playback singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya moved in upward direction. So far Abhijeet Bhattacharya has sung many super hit filmy songs and most of the songs are from Hindi films. Bengali singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya has released many video albums also and he has recorded many non filmy songs.

Wada Raha Sanam ‘in 1992 from a Hindi film Khilari. This is a duet song with Alka Yagnik. In 1993, Abhijit recorded ‘Darwaza Band Karlo ‘ in film Daar. This song is also a duet song and great Lata Mangeskar was the female singer of this song.  In 1994, the song of Bengali singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya ‘Ole Ole’ in Hindi film Yeh Dillagi was a craze among the youths. In the same year Bengali singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya sung another famous song, ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari’ in Hindi film Main Khiladi Tu Anari. In 1995, Abhijeet Bhattacharya sung a super hit duet song with Asha Bhosle for Hindi film Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge. The song is ‘Zara Sa Jhoom Loon Mein’.  In the same year, the duet song ‘Aankhon Main Base Ho Tum ‘ with Alka Yagnik in Hindi film Takkar was also a super hit song. In 1997, Abhijit sung ‘Main Koi Aisa Geet Gaaon ‘ in Hindi film Yes Boss. In the same year and for the same film Abhijit sung ‘Chand tare’.
