As usual, Byomkesh Bakshi is seeker of the truth in this story of Bengali movie Abar Byomkesh. The plot of the story is away from Kolkata where Byomkesh Bakshi and Satyabati are temporarily settled. Truth seeker, Byomkesh Bakshi is ill and staying away from city life to recover health.

The actual story of the Bengali film Abar Byomkesh starts with the theft of a photograph from the residence of a local gentleman. Missing of a photograph may not be a major issue to most of us, even police department were not worried about it but Byomkesh Bakshi with his sixth sense smells something different. The photographer also was unable to produce the negative copy of the photograph.

Rajani is the widow daughter of Mahidhar Chowdhury, the local gentleman whose photograph was missing.

The story of the movie is based on how the truth seeker, Byomkesh Bakshi solves all the issues related to the missing of a photograph.
