Paoli Dam as female Devdas in film Devi

Rick Basu's debut directorial film Devi is based on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's classic tragedy Devdas in a female perspective. Actress Paoli Dam is playing the lead role in the film. Director said: "The genders of the main characters have been reversed and the story is based in the 21st century. Some changes have been made, as society has changed a lot and men women relationships have evolved."

Paoli dam is Devi Banerjee in the film Devi who is addicted to drugs. The starting of the film is very dramatic with 30-40 cops in cars and a helicopter chasing Devi.
