Hindi and Marathi film actor Sadashiv Amrapurkar passed away on 3 November 2014 at 2 a.m.in Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital (KDAH). The actor was admitted in the hospital two weeks back with lung infection.and he was kept in ICU.

Few days back, the actors daughter told that her father was responding to treatment but the end came in the morning.

Sadashiv Amrapurkar worked in both Hindi and Marathi films and in last few years, the actor concentrated more in Marathi films. Sadashiv played in the roles of villain and comedian in films. Sadashiv Amrapurkar has won two Filmfare awards. In 1984, the actor  won the best supporting actor for film Ardh Satya and in 1991, Sadashiv won best villain award for playing the role of a ruthless eunuch in Sadak.

Sadashiv Amrapurkar was born on 11 May 1950 in a Maharashtrain Brahmin family.  and his wife is Sunanda Karmarkar.

Bollywood Actor Sadashiv Amrapurkar has been hospitalised at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital (KDAH) in Mumbai two weeks ago with severe lung infection and is on life support. The actor’s daughter informed that he is in the ICU and present condition is stable. Sadashiv’s daughter Reema Amrapurkar said: "He is on life support but he is stable right now and has shown signs of improvement. His body is responding well to the ventilators. He suffered from lung infection a few weeks back following which he was hospitalised at Kokilaben hospital." 

Sadashiv Amrapurkar is a stage and film artist. The actor is known for his performances in Hindi films like Sadak, Ardh Satya and others.
