Shashi Kapoor and Sridevi remembered at Oscars

The In Memoriam segment of the Oscars pays tribute to artistes who have passed this year and Bollywood stars Shashi Kapoor and Sridevi, who passed away recently, were remembered.

Shashi Kapoor, apart from Bollywood Hindi films, worked in International films like "The Householder", "Shakespeare Wallah", "The Guru", "Bombay Talkie" and "In Custody".

Sridevi died on 24 February in Dubai.


Others who featured in the section include James Bond star Roger Moore, Mary Goldberg and Johan Johansson, John Heard and Sam Shephard.

Bollywood actor Shashi Kapoor passes away at 79

Veteran Hindi film actor Shashi Kapoor passed away on 04 December 2017, Monday after prolonged illness. Shashi Ji was 79.

Shashi Kapoor was younger brother Raj Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor and younger son of Prithviraj Kapoor. Birth name of the legendary actor was Balbir Raj Kapoor and he was born in Kolkata on 18 March 1938.

Shashi Kapoor was well-known for his roles in films like 'Deewaar' (1975), 'Satyam Shivam Sundaram' (1978), 'Junoon' (1978), 'Shaan' (1980), and 'Namak Halaal' (1982).

Shashi Kapoor married English actress Jennifer Kendal on 1958 and they were happy couple till the death of Jennifer on 1984. Shashi is survived by his daughter Sanjana, and sons Kunal and Karan.

In 2011, Shashi Kapoor was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the Indian government. In 2015, he became the third in famous Kapoor family to be honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.

Recent film Tamasha where Ranbir Kapoor was paired opposite Deepika Padukone raised the issue that relationship between Ranbir and Katrina is not in good shape but today they are seen together to celebrate Christmas party which may stop the rumour.

Shashi Kapoor is Stable

Yesteryear's Bollywood actor Shashi Kapoor's condition is stable now and he is will be discharged from the hospital soon. Shashi Kapoor was hospitalized on 21 September at Kokilaben Hospital due to chest infection. 

Shashi Kapoor’s health is not doing well recently and the veteran actor has kept himself away from media and public since long.
