Chiranjeet
Chiranjeet is the screen name of Deepak Chakraborty. For Bengali audiences, Deepak Chakraborty is Chiranjeet or Chairanjit. Chiranjeet is very popular to rural audiences as he has mostly worked in films full of drama and melodrama. Chiranjeet is a good actor and he has proved his acting capability in many films and in recent released film Chotushkon (2014), Chiranjeet has again proved that he act in critical roles also. Actually when Bengali films was passing through crisis, Chiranjeet acted in many ‘B’ grade films for the survival of the industry and his mission succeded. Chiranjeet injected the required oxygen to the Bengali film industry and gradually concentrated on other aspects. Chiranjeet kept him away from the film industry when he was the top hero of Bengali films, Prosenjit and Tapas Paul were behind him in popularity at that time. Chiranjeet is a good painter and he is an Engineer from Jadavpur University. Chiranjeet never tried to make his career as an engineer, he worked for Desh magazine and as a newsreader on TV. Chiranjeet is also a famous stage artist. Now Chiranjeet has joined politics. Chiranjeet is MLA from Barasat constituency in West Bengal in Trinamool Congress ticket. Recently Chiranjeet has again started working in films and this is a good sign for Bengali films.
