Popular yesteryears Bollywwod actress Sadhana died today in the morning in Mumbai after a brief illness. The actress was detected with a tumor and had been battling cancer for a very long time. Most of the people don't know that the surname of Sadhana is Shivdasani, she is popular as Sadhana.

Sadhana has acted in 35 films and her hair style was unique. Sadhana cut was a craze among girls at that time and even today Sadhana cut is famous among women.

Sadhana was active in film industry in the 60s and 70s had retired from public life long back. In recent years, Sadhana kept herself away from any type of filmy functions and party. The actress only kept in touch with her old pals like Asha Parekh, Helen and Waheeda Rahman.

Sadhna married R.K. Nayyar in 1966 and they remained together till 1995. R.K.Nayyar died in 1995.

Sadhana was cousin of another Bollywood actress Babita, mother of Kareena Kapoor. Sadhana did several films with director Raj Khosla: "Ek Musafir Ek Hasina (1962), "Woh Kaun Thi" (1964), "Mera Saaya" (1966), "Anita" (1967), and an uncompleted film co-starring Dev Anand, titled "Sajan ki Galiyan."

Sadhana acted with Guru Dutt in the film "Picnic" which was left incomplete due to Dutt's untimely death in 1964.

Sadhana was highest paid actress along-with Vyjanthimala from 1963-67.
