Top filmy personalities in Bengali film industry in year 2015

At the end of year 2015, evaluation of filmy personalities - actors, film directors, music directors etc are going on. Which actress is at the top? Among the actors who has shown the courage to work in different type of critical roles? Many young talented film directors are now making experiments in Bengali films. Let's try to look behind and search the answers.

Jisshu Sengupta

Jisshu Sengupta is working in this industry for many years but 2015 is going to be a memorial year for him so far as career is concerned. Jisshu has worked in Anjan Dutta's Byomkesh series film this year and proved that he can also play in roles of detective. Jisshu has also played in negative roles in film Rajkahini and Arshinagar. Jisshu has worked in Hindi film Piku with Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone. Best of luck for Jisshu in 2016.

Kaushik Ganguly

Kaushik Ganguly is such a filmmaker who always works with new ideas. Film Chotoder Chobi by Kaushik Ganguly is totally a different type of movie in Bengali films. Kaushik Ganguly has won the ICFT-Unesco Fellini Prize for his film 'Cinemawala' in 2015.

Anupam Roy

Anupam Roy has proved himself as music composer, music director and singer in Bengali film industry but now this young talented artist has conquered Bollywood with film Piku. Anupam Roy is the music director of film Piku.

Shibaprasad Mukhopadhyay and Nandita Ray

Film Belasheshe is a special gift to Bengalis by Shibaprasad Mukhopadhyay and Nandita Ray.Veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee and Swatilekha Sengupta worked together after 30 years in this film.

Sohini Sarkar

Sohini Sarkar has worked in many critical roles in year 2015. Swastika Mukherjee

In year 2015, Dev worked in different type of films. Dev starrer film Sudhu Tomari Jonno is a box office hit film. Dev has worked in Aparna Sen's film Arshinagar and the film is also a hit one.

Churni Ganguly

Churni Ganguly made her debut as director in 2015 with film Nirbashito, based on life of Tashlima Nasrin. Churni herself played the role of Tashlima in the film.

Aparna Sen

Aparna Sen magic is still very much present in Bengali film industry. In film Arshinagar, Aparna has worked with a newcomer actress Rittika and Dev, who is known as hero of commercial romantic films. Film Arshinagar is a box office successful film.

Srijit Chatterjee

At present, Srijit is considered as one of the top filmmakers in Bengali films. Srijit's film Rajkahini has impressed Bengali audiences. In film Nirbak, Srijit has experimented on different theme. 

Abir Chatterjee

Year 2015 is a productive year of Abir Chatterjee. Abir has given many hit films this year - Katmundu, Har Har Byomkesh, Rajkahini, Ebar Shobar. In Har Har Byomkesh, Abir again played in the role of Byomkesh but this time under the direction of Arindam Shil.
