Box Office Report and Collection of Bengali Film Chander Pahar

Kamaleswar Mukherjee directed much awaited Bengali film Chander Pahar is released on 20 December. Story of the film is based on classic novel of Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay and the story revolves around a village boy Shankar. Dev is gradually coming out of his romantic chocolate boy image. The film has many thrilling moments - Bullets fly, lions roar, spiders crawl etc.

Dev's character, Shankar is a dreamer who wants to travel the world and his dream takes him to Africa. Bengali audiences will see human-animal real interactions. The lion's attack on Shankar's cabin at night is most thrilling in Chander Pahar.

Dev has passed in the action scenes, riding on horseback, fighting the wild animals.

Dev starrer Bengali film Chander Pahar is doing extremely well in Box office. Year 2013 is a productive year for Bengali film superstar Dev. Dev is the new heartthrob of Bengali audiences mainly for his romantic roles. Dev is now performing in critical roles also and this is one of the major achievements of Bengali film industry in year 2013.

Box office collection of Chander Pahar has already broken many records in Tollywood film industry. Film Chander Pahar is a Rs. 15 crore project and the film was released on 20 December 2013. Chander Pahar is released in 200 theatre halls and in the first three days, the box office collection of Chander Pahar is almost Rs. 2 crore and it is expected that in the first week the film’s box office collection will touch Rs. 5 crore. Previously maximum box office collection in initial three days was Rs. 1 crore 86 lakhs for any Bengali film and the film was Boss. On Sunday – 22 December, box office collection of Chander Pahar is 90 lakhs which is also a new record of single day collection. Previously this record was in the name of Jeet starrer movie Boss and the amount was Rs. 72 lakhs.

Expected second week collection is Rs. 4 crore and in the next 2-3 weeks it is expected that box office collection of Chander Pahar will be another Rs. 4-5 crore.

First Day box office collection of film Dhoom 3

Yash Raj Films’ Dhoom 3 is all set to become a box office blockbuster of 2013. First day domestic box office collection of the film is Rs 36.22 crore which is a new record for the biggest single day collections.

Hindi version of the film Dhoom 3 has earned about Rs 33.42 crore and the Tamil and Telugu versions have collected Rs 2.80 crore on 21 December. 

In film Dhoom 3, Aamir Khan plays a negative role.

Shooting of Bengali film Parapar started at Dhurjati Dham

Sanjoy Nag has started shooting of his next film Parapar at famous Dhurjati Dham, in Belgachia.  Satyajit Ray used Dhurjati Dham in his films - Chiriakhana and Strir Patra.

Film Parapar is based on a novel written by Moti Nandi. Rubel and Rituparna Sengupta shot a quarrel sequence at Dhurjati Dham. Rituparna is playing the role of Damini, a simple homemaker who transforms into a strong woman after her husband goes to jail. Rubel is playing the role of Damini’s husband.

Rubel is a theatre actor from Bangladesh and Rituparna Sengupta is pleased with Rubel’s performance.

Bratya Basu and Paoli Dam are also in film Parapar.

For the first time, Rituparna Sengupta and Paoli Dam will work together in Sanjoy Nag's upcoming Bengali film Parapar. Film Parapar is based on a novel of Moti Nandy and Bratya Basu will also be in the film.

Paoli Dam will be seen playing a critical character in the film Parapar. Paoli will be Urmila in film Parapar and the film revolves around a jailbird, Rudra. Theatre actor Rubel will be playing the role of Rudra in Bengali film Parapar. 

Rudra returns home after  14 years to re-unite with his wife and two kids. Rituparna Sengupta is the wife of Rudra in film Parapar.

Bratya Basu is playing the role of Gopal – friend of Rudra in film Parapar. Urmila is wife of Gopal.

Bengali film Majnu is the last released film of Srabanti Chatterjee in year 2013. Srabanti Chatterjee and Hiran are in the leading roles of the film and Srabanti’s husband Rajib Biswas is the director. Film Majnu is a commercial film and Srabanti played a romantic role but the film failed in box office. Srabanti Chatterjee’s performance in film Majnu is satisfactory but Hiran is not upto the mark. The other actors like Supriyo and Biswajit Chakraborty are so so but the story and songs of the film are poor. There is nothing special about the direction of the film.

Srabanti Chatterjkee’s last film of the year 2013 failed to impress her fans.
