Parambrata and Koel in Film Film Jawker Dhan 2

Parambrata Chatterjee and Koel Mallik will be seen together for the third time in film Jawker Dhan 2 which is a sequel of film Jawker Dhan.

Parambrata and Koel worked together earlier in films Hemlock Society and Highway. Jawker Dhan 2 is directed by Sanatan Ghoshal. Koel will play the role of a doctor, Ruby Chatterjee in the film.

Film Jawker Dhan 2 revolves around a treasure hunt and the other actors in the film Kaushik Sen, Gourav Chakraborty and others.

Story of the film is based on detective novel of Hemendra Kumar Roy.

Shooting of the film Jawker Dhan has already been started in Kolkata. The other shotting spots of the film are Thailand and North Bengal.

Bengali Film Goheen Hriday Story Cast and Crew

Actress Rituparna Sengupta has nothing to prove in Bengali film industry. The actress herself is an institution now for Bengali films. Rituparna will again be seen in a critical character in film Gaheen Hriday by director Agnidev Chatterjee and based on author Suchitra Bhattacharya's best-selling novel of the same name. 

Rituparna Sengupta plays the role of Sohini who is married to Bhaskar, played by Debshankar. Sohini is caught in a complex relationship between Bhaskar and Anupam, friend of Bhaskar. Kaushik Roy plays the role of Anupam. Sohini is determined to settle with Anupam leaving her husband, Bhaskar and at this point the story reaches the climax. Bhaskar is diagnosed with Cancer.

What should Sohini do? Marriage is not just a bond between husband and wife. The film shows how the wife of a cancer patient handles the crisis.

Bengali film Dhananjoy - Story Cast and Crew of the movie

Film Dhananjay is a Bengali language drama film directed by Arindam Sil and produced by Shrikant Mohta and Mahendra Soni under the banner of SVF Entertainment. Thirteen years ago, death penalty of Dhananjoy Chottopadhyay was a most discussed topic in West Bengal. Many eminent persons of that time welcomed the death penalty while Aparna Sen, late Sunil Gangopadhyay and Sujato Bhadra of APDR condemned the capital punishment. Dhananjoy was hanged on 15 August 2004.

Film Dhananjoy is based on the conviction of Dhananjoy Chatterjee, accused for the gruesome murder of Hetal Parekh. The crime took place in the year 1990. On the basis of circumstantial evidence and on the basis of the deceased mother's statement, Dhananjoy Chatterjee a security guard, was executed and hanged to death on the early hours of 15th August 2004. Before death Dhananjoy was imprisonment for 14 years. Dhananjoy was from a poor family in Bankura district and his family appealed to all levels of court in the country; and finally, to the President of India, Abul Kalam Azad.

Dhananjoy is no more in this world but there are many questions and doubts in the entire process. Till date Dhananjoy is the only person judicially executed in India in the twenty-first century so far for a crime not related to terrorism. The execution by hanging took place in Alipore Central Correctional Home, Kolkata, on 15 August early morning. Dhananjoy had been charged with the crimes of rape and murder of Hetal Parekh, an 18-year-old school-girl, on 5 March 1990, in her third floor apartment in Bhawanipore, Kolkata. Dhananjoy was the security guard of that apartment. Dhananjoy's family members refused to take the dead body and state government did the last rituals of the body. 

The execution stirred up many public controversies and attracted attention from media. Dhananjoy was convicted on the basis of circumstantial evidences only. Dhananjoy consistently maintained his innocence throughout his trial and imprisonment. There is a big question whether many people wanted to hang Dhananjoy as early as possible to hide something. 

Jailer, Doctor of  Alipore Central Correctional Home were surprised how a man like Dhananjoy can commit such a crime. The hang man, Nata Mallick also said that he never came across such a gentle  accused who pleaded for forgiveness if there was any mistake from his side.

After Feluda and Byomkesh, another detective is all set to make debut in Bengali film industry - Kiriti Roy. Kiriti Roy is the creation of Nihar Ranjan Gupta and the author has written many famous stories on Kiriti Roy. Kalo Bhramar is a famous detective story of Nihar Ranjan Gupta. Indraneil Sengupta will play the role of the detective and director is Anindya Bikas Dutta.

Shooting of the film will start from end-January and main location will be Kolkata. Kaushik Sen will play the role of Dr Sanyal, one of the main characters.

Arunima Ghosh will play the character of Krishna, Kiriti Roy's wife.

Shooting of film Gaheen Hriday to start from November

Director Agnidev Chatterjee is all set start the shooting of film Gaheen Hriday based on novel of late author Suchitra Bhattacharya.

Rituparna Sengupta, Kaushik Sen and Debshankar Haldar are playing the pivotal roles in the film which deals on man-woman relationship and marriage.

Rituparna and Debshankar are married couple in the film Gaheen Hriday. Ritu decides to divorce her husband and settle down with Kaushik Sen. Kaushik is friend of Debshankar. At this point of the story, Rituparna comes to know that her husband has been diagnosed with cancer. The film takes a turn from this point.

The other actors in film Gaheen Hriday are Locket Chatterjee, Shankar Chakraborty, Sohag Sen, Biplab Chatterjee and Kalyani Mondal.  Shooting of the film will start from 16 November and the locations are around Kolkata and Mandarmani.

Bengali film Kadambari is the most awaited movie of this year. The film is based on a very sensitive issue. Was the relationship between Rabindranath and Kadambari Devi was a platonic one?

Kadambari Devi was wife of Jyotirindranath Tagore – elder brother of Rabindranath Tagore. Relationship between Kadambari Devi and Rabindranath Tagore still remains a topic of discussion for generations. Rabindranath Tagore never denied that he had a unique relationship with his sister– in– law. Rabindranath used to call her ‘Notun Bouthan’.

The relationship between Rabindranath Tagore and his ‘Notun Bouthan’ is always treated as a sensitive issue. Kadambari Devi committed suicide just four months after Rabindranath Tagore's marriage. Director of the film Kadambari, Suman Ghosh feels: "I was not scared to deal with such a sensitive subject. What I felt instead was a huge sense of responsibility. For the first time in the history of Bengali cinema, this subject has been adapted for screen.A lot about this incident has so far remained under the carpet, and I thought the carpet needs to be lifted."

Kadambari Devi was married to Jyotirindranath Tagore when she was only 9 years old. At that time Rabindranath Tagore was lonely in the ‘Thakur Bari’ and the same case was with Kadambari Devi. It took no time to bond the two children together as play mate. After the death of Rabindranath Tagore's mother, the poet started getting motherly affection from Kadambari Devi. Finally the relationship turned into a romantic relationship. Director Suman Ghosh has done research work on the relationship and said "Such was the depth of Kadambari's influence on Rabindranath that at the age of 70, he confessed to Nandalal Bose that many of his paintings of a woman's face were drawn keeping Kadambari Devi in mind."

Veteran Bollywood actress Waheeda Rehman will be seen in Aparna Sen’s film Arshinagar — a film based on Romeo-Juliet.

Dev and Rittika Sen (Ritika Sen) are in leading roles of the film and very soon Waheeda Rehman will be seen in shooting floor. Waheeda Rehman earlier acted in Aparna Sen’s film 15 Park Avenue. Abir Chatterjee is perfect choice in the role of detective. Swasata Chatterjee as Ajit in this film has less scope of acting but he has proved his class.

Byomkesh Phire Elo is the final part of the Byomkesh trilogy by Anjan Dutta. The previous films on Byomkesh by Anjan Dutta were Byomkesh Bakshi and Abar Byomkesh. Byomkesh Phire Elo is based on the story Beni Sanghar by novelist Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay.

In the film Byomkesh Phire Elo, Benimadhab is a businessman who has a fear of being murdered by someone although he has no idea about the suspected killer. Benimadhab appointed Byomkesh to solve the situation and the detective stars his work with his assistant Ajit. In the course of investigation by Byomkesh, some dark sides of Benimadhab’s family come out.

It is heard that Bengali actress Rituparna Sengupta and Kaushik Sen will work together in Sudipa Mukhopadhyay’s Bengali film Bobbyr Bondhura. The movie Bobbyr Bondhura is going to be the debut film of Sudipa Mukhopadhyay as director. If everything goes alright, the film will go on the floors in June this year.

Story of the film Bobbyr Bondhura

The story of the film Bobbyr Bondhura revolves around a boy – Bobby. Bobby’s parents are separated and Bobby is living with his mother in Darjeeling. One day Bobby goes missing and his mother searches all possible clues of his missing. The mother finds that Bobby is missing the joint family culture in which he was habituated in North Kolkata.

The film deals with the importance of joint family which is now missing in our society. Children and old people love joint family but only the active members love to live separately.
