Story of Bengali Film 61 No Garpar Lane revolves around eight tenants and the owner of a old buiding in Kolkata. The tenants belong to lower middle class of the society and the owner of the house Jagadish Babu is just like their guardian. Jagadish Babu's only daughter Jhinik is married to engineer Supratik and they reside at Chandernagore, near Kolkata.

Supratik thinks that it is better to sell the old house to promoter and that will be profitable. This is the issue of clash between Jagadish Babu and his daughter and son-in-law.

Director Raj Mukherjee has started the shooting of film titled Troyee with Rituparna Sengupta, Priyanshu Chatterjee and Badsha Moitra in Visakhapatnam. In year 1982, a film Troyee was released in which Debashree Roy and Mithun Chakraborty played the leading roles.

The film Troyee revolves around three people and the relationship of hatred, love and lust between them. Rituparna Sengupta is Anjali in film Troyee and Priyanshu Chatterjee is Rajib. Anjali and Rajib are married but they are unhappy in their married life. Rajib and Anjali are passing through financial crisis and they rent out a part of the building to singer Sanjay. Popular TV actor Badsha Moitra is Sanjay. A love triangle is formed between the three.

Story of the movie-Iti Mrinalini

The movie is based on the story of a famous actress, the ups and downs she faced in her life. Mrinalini, the famous actress wants to end her much coveted life at her old age. She plans suicide by consuming sleeping pills and write a suicide note. Before committing suicide she decides to destroy all her possessions-letters, photographs, newspaper cuttings etc. She wants to destroy all these because she does not want these collections to become public via press. She opens the box which stores her memories and the movie enters the nostalgic rewinding of her yester years life. It takes her through all the memories, joys and sorrows of her life. The plan of suicide vanished from her mind. A new realization comes into her mind. Old Mrinalini realized that every stage of life is a new chapter and is different from the rest. One has to accept it.

Gradually the darkest night of Mrinalini’s life ends. In the morning she tears up the suicide note and takes her German Shepherd for a morning walk. Start of a new day with new chapter of life.

Aparna Sen’s movies always convey some message to the audiences.  Message of this movie is to be optimistic and taking the life as it is. Old age is bound to come in one’s life but accept the truth of life and be happy.

Sunil Gangopadhyay’s poem, Smritir Shohor is converted into a song in this movie.
