Actress Churni Ganguly keen to join human trial of Covid-19

Actress turned director Churni Ganguly (Gangopadhyay) has expressed her willingness to participate in the Corona Virus trial which is being conducted by AIIMS. The national award winning director has sent a mail expressing her desire to participate in the I / II human clinical trial of 'Covaxin'.

According to the norms, volunteers should have no co-morbid conditions and should not have a history of Covid-19. The criterion also mentions that those between 18 and 55 years would be eligible to participate in the randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial. On July 20, Ganguly sent an email offering herself as a volunteer.

Rituparna and Prosenjit in Film Drishtikon

During their early stage of career, Prosenjit Chottopadhyay and Rituparna Sengupta worked in many romantic films although all the films were not classic. But now they are more matured and both are at their peak of careers. After a gap of 14 years, Ritu and Prosenjit worked in film Praktan and now they are all set to work together in Kaushik Ganguly's film Drishtikon which is based on an unusual love story.

Prosenjit confirmed the news and said, "Ritu and I will be work together in KG's film, Drishtikon. After Praktan, many directors had approached us, but we wanted to work with a director who's sensitive and can handle our camaraderie as actors. And who better than KG? Both of us wanted to work together and this is the right script. I'm sure KG will discover another side of our on-screen chemistry."


Story of film Drishtikon



Film Drishtikon is about a lawyer (Prosenjit) and his client (Rituparna). They have to stay in touch for years, as a case drags on. The film shows how their professional relationship turns personal over time. Churni Ganguly is Prosenjit's wife in the film. Gaurav Chakraborty is a junior lawyer and the director himself is playing the role of Rituparna's brother-in-law in film Drishtikon.

Gopi Bhagat is the film's DoP and Anupam Roy will be scoring the music. Shooting of the film will start after Durga Puja.

Ujaan Ganguly making his debut in films through Tollywood film Rosogolla. Who is Ujaan Ganguly? Ujaan is the son of Churni and Kaushik Ganguly and he is a first-year student of Jadavpur University. 

Ujaan Ganguly is young and he is making his debut in young director Pavel's film Rosogolla. Film Rosogolla is based on the life and times of the 19th century inventor of the sweet, Nobin Chandra Das. 

Ujaan wants to become a teacher in future.

Koel Mallick in Tollywood after one and half year of gap

Gossips were mounting on Koel Mallick's personal life. Koel was not doing any film since last one and half year. Many suspected that Koel and Nishpal marriage was in trouble. Koel finally breaks her silence over all speculations and the actress is back in Tollywood during the bad patch of the industry.


Koel Mallik tied the knot with film producer Nishpal Singh Rane on 1 February 2013 and after her marriage she reduced her number of films. Since last one and half year she has not a single release. Right now the film industry of West Bengal is not in a good shape. Rose Valley scam and suspected involvements of many actors and actresses and one top producer with Rose Valley owner has rocked the industry. Tollywood film industry needs oxygen and Koel Mallick is present in the industry with a Kaushik Ganguly's film Chaya O Chobi.

Koel Mallick will work with Abir Chatterjee and Ritwick Chakraborty in Kaushik Ganguly's film Chaya O Chobi. The other actors in the film are Payel Sarkar, Churni Ganguly and Barun Chanda. 

Since last one year there was a strong rumour that Koel and Rane marriage is in trouble and they are moving towards divorce. Koel Mallick ends all such rubbish rumours of Koel - Nishpal Rane divorce. Koel was happily spending her time with Nishpal Singh Rane and now the tigress is back on floor.

Upcoming film of Churni Ganguly is Tarikh


Churni Ganguly is all set to start her next film titled Tarikh. Film Tarikh is based on a separation story focusing on the impact of social media on our lives and director Srijit Mukherji and Abir Chatterjee will be seen in lead characters. Churni said: "Srijit plays a serious, knowledgeable man, quite similar to his real-life image. Getting a creative person like Srijit on board is a boon. I am a great fan of his films. It will be fun directing him, as he is more seasoned than me and I'm looking forward to learning from him."
