Srijit Mithila Marriage at South Kolkata Flat

Film maker Srijit Mukherji and Bangladeshi model and actress Rafiath Rashid Mithila tied the knot today (06 December 2019) at Srijit's South Kolkata flat. In a homely atmosphere in presence of limited guests the marriage ceremony completed.

Rudranil, Srijato, Jishu and Nilanjana from Tollywood film industry were present in the marriage ceremony of Srijit and Mithila. Mithila was seen in a red Jamdani from Aarong, a Bangladeshi popular brand and Srijit was in a red jawahar coat and black punjabi,pajamas.

Mithila's daughter from her first marriage Aira was also present and  she was sitting at the middle of Srijit and Mithila when they were signing the registration form.

Parambrata Chottopadhyay and Raima Sen will be seen in Srijit Mukherji's upcoming film Dwitiyo Purush which is a sequel of Baishe Srabon. The film will be released on January 2020.

The story of film Dwitiyo Purush will start from where Baishe Srabon had left off.  Film Baishe Srabon was a psychological thriller based on a story revolved around  two journalists and two police officers. The film was a super hit film of 2011. 

Shooting of the film Dwitiyo Purush will start from October this year.

Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt is producing Vidya Balan-starrer film Begum Jaan and he is very happy for it. After doing number of films on sex and thrill, Mahesh is again back to subjects that he explored during his formative years in Bollywood.

In Mahesh's words: “For us to move away completely from the cinema that we make, was a concious decision. And we are very happy that we did it. I have opted for this kind of cinema after ‘Zakhm’. The last three films we made were almost non-films. They disappeared… So, as they say, ‘in the darkest night you must begin from the point where you once started before’." The veteran filmmaker further said "The way Srijit Mukherji tells his story, his way of working reminds of Mahesh Bhatt of 1984 and he used to make films like ‘Arth’, ‘Saaransh’ and ‘Zakhm’.”

Film Begum Jaan is a Hindi adaptation of Srijit Mukherjee’s critically-acclaimed Bengali outing Rajkahini where Rituparna Sengupta played the lead role. 

Mahesh Bhatt said: “There is no male star, no item song, but purely context of the story. This (response to the trailer) is certain kind of indication that the world outside is far more receptive to new idea, new content than the market.”

Rituparna Sengupta played the role of Begum Jaan in film Rajkahini who is all about courage and sincerity . She is a difficult woman who only understands reality and the hard truths of life.

Rituparna Sengupta had an amazing experience in the film. The director has squeezed the performance from Ritu. The actress realized the devastating past of our Partition while shooting for the film Rajkahini. The entire team of Rajkahini felt the momentum of freedom fighting. All the actors in film underwent training in gun-training, laathi-wielding sessions, fights and arm wrestling to perform.

Filmmaker Srijit Mukherji admitted to AIIMS

National award winning Bengali film maker Srijit Mukherji was admitted to AIIMS, Delhi on 5 May, Tuesday night with a fracture in the left leg.

Last night he was travelling in an auto and suddenly his left leg came under the wheels. Doctors said that his condition is stable and will be discharged soon.

Srijit Mukherji won the National Film Award for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay for his sixth film Chotushkone this year. Srijit was in Delhi to receive the award.

Recently Srijit has offered another role to Paoli in his film and the actress has accepted the offer. Paoli Dam will play an important role in Srijit’s next Kakababu project which is based on Sunil Ganguly's Pahar Churaye Atonko.

Bengali actress Swastika Mukherjee was hospitalised in a private hospital at EM Bypass on 24 May with deep wounds on her left wrist vain and skin. On 25 May, Sunday she was released from the hospital as she is now out of danger.  Swastika had several deep wounds on her hand and operation is performed by plastic surgery Dr. Koushik Nandy. Swastika’s sister Ajapa Mukherjee has tweeted on 24 May, Saturday that Swastika got injury on her left arm and head and now she is fine. Dr. Koushik Nandy said that Swastika is now out of danger but her treatment will continue as the injury on her left wrist is very deep and the operation mark on her wrist may not vanish in future.

Doubts about the incidence and statements about Swastika’s injury

Earlier Swastika and her close friends told that the accident took place at the residence of the actress at Golf Green.  Jadavpur police station does not agree with the statement. They said that Swastika was not present at her Golf Green residence on Friday and Saturday. The incidence took place on Saturday, 24 May 2014. According to few police men, the accident occurred in a hotel at New Town and the time was early morning. They further said that a director, known as close friend of Swastika was also with the actress on that night. Close associates of Swastika said that the actress and her ‘close friend’ director were engaged in hot talks and even they continued it over phone when the director left the place. Swastika Mukherjee got injured nearly after 2 hours of the above incidence. Swastika’s friend Judhajeet Dutta took Swastika to the hospital and he said to police that he has no idea about how the actress got injured. Till today no complaint has been lodged by actress Swastika Mukherjee. The question is who is the director?

Bengali film Chatuskone and four eminent directors will act in the film

Director acting in films is not very uncommon. In past we have seen many directors acting in his or her own films or in other’s films. Aparna Sen, Goutam Ghose, Kaushik Gongopadhyay, Anjan Dutta, Rituparno Ghosh, Sujoy Ghosh and many other famous directors have acted in films. Aparna Sen and Anjan Dutta were initially actors and then turned into direction.

Srijit Mukherjee will direct a film titled Chatuskone and four eminent film directors - Aparna Sen, Goutam Ghose, Kaushik Gongopadhyay and Anjan Dutta will act in the film. Initially Rituparno Ghosh was assumed to play an important role in the film Chatuskone but after his sad demise Kaushik Gangopadhyay has been included in the casting of the film. Shooting of the film will be started in November this year. Script of the film Chatuskone is written by the director Srijit Mukherjee himself. The film is based on the story of four directors and that’s why Srijit has decided to cast four famous Bengali directors. The film Chotuskone is jointly produced by Rana Sarkar and Reliance Entertainment. Bengali film industry is waiting eagerly for a unique film.

Upcoming films of Srijit Mukherji

Talented and versatile director of Bengali films, Srijit Mukherji has planned to complete three films in year 2013. The first film of Srijit Mukherji in 2013 is Mishar Rahasya. Shooting of the film Mishar Rahasya has been started since 3 January 2013 and the shooting locations will be Mishar, Kolkata and Delhi.

The other two films of Srijit Mukherji are Jatismar and Chatuskon. Film Jatismar is based on a romantic love story. Kabir Suman will compose music for the film Jatismar. Prasenjit Chatterjee and Swastika Mukherjee will be in the leading roles in the film Jatismar.

Film Chatuskon will tell the story of four directors. Four directors of recent Bengali film industry, Aparna Sen, Goutom Ghose, Anjan Dutta and Rituporno Ghosh will play the role of four directors in the film.
