Bollywood superstar Salman Khan attended marriage ceremony of Nepalese businessman and industrialist Binod Chaudhary’s son Varun and jeweller Rajkumar Tongya’s daughter Anushree.

Other VVIPs present in the grand ceremony were Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, ace fashion designer J.J. Valaya, filmmaker Muzaffar Ali, Shatrughan Sinha, superstar Rajnikanth’s wife and film producer-playback singer Latha, former President of Bangladesh Hussain Muhammad Ershad, Filipino politician Ferdinand Marcos, President and CEO of Forbes Michael S. Perlis, Indian politicians like Kamal Nath and Digvijaya Singh and others.

The wedding took place at Jag Mandir continuing from Friday night to Saturday morning, saw a bevy of celebrities mixing with the royals of Rajasthan, dressed in their best.

Salman Khan was clad in a simple black suit, attended the venue just for a few minutes with a dozen of bodyguards and police officials protecting him from the guests who were clearly the star’s huge fans. Salman just meet and greet the bride and groom.

28th April was birth day of Bengali actress Koel Mallick and the Ranjit Mallick daughter celebrated the birthday in a different way.

Film Baahubali 2: The Conclusion box-office collection

Film 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion' records highest ever opening at Rs 122 crore across India. The multi-lingual film that stars Prabhas and Rana Daggubati in leading roles collected an estimated Rs 122.03 crore. The film has collected an estimated total of Rs 40.75 crore from the Hindi market. The remaining Rs 81 crore was amassed from the other regional markets.

Previously Salman Khan's Diwali 2015 release 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' was considered as the highest first day collections of all time. The Hindi film collected an estimated Rs 39.32 crore. The other huge one day collection films are Salman's 'Sultan', Shah Rukh Khan's 'Happy New Year' and Aamir Khan's 'Dhoom 3'.

Sonika Chauhan dies in car accident and Vikram Chatterjee injured

Popular model and TV prime time host, Sonika Singh Chauhan died in a car accident at Rashbehari Avenue in south Kolkata and actor Vikram Chatterjee is injured. The accident happened today (29 April, 2017) in the morning, at about 4.00 AM.

Sonika Singh Chauhan was travelling in a car, SUV with Bengali actor Vikram Chatterjee, when the driver reportedly lost control. The car crashed into a footpath stall near Lake Mall on Rashbehari Avenue in south Kolkata. The locals rescued Vikram and Sonika from the mangled remains of the vehicle and  both were rushed to the hospital, Sonika Singh Chauhan was declared dead by doctors.

Vikram was initially released after first aid but the actor was later admitted in a private hospital after he complained of illness. Sonika's body has been sent for post-mortem.

It is heard that actor Vikram Chatterjee himself was behind the wheels and Sonika was in the front seat when the crash took place. 

Sonika was just 28 years old. Sonika studied at La martiniere girls school and afterwards she took admission in Mount Carmel College. Sonika participated in Sananda Tilottama 2010 and she was second runners up. Gradually Sonika became a popular model in Kolkata and Mumbai.

Sonika was an anchor in Pro Kabbadi League. She was also a VJ on channel V.

Veteran Bollywood actor Vinod Khanna passed away on 27 April 2017, Thursday morning. The actor turned politician was suffering from advanced bladder carcinoma and breathed his last at 11:20 am at Sir HN Reliance Foundation hospital in Mumbai.

Bollywood celebrities mourned the loss of the superstar. Vinod Khanna was 70 and was hospitalised over a month ago for cancer. Family members of Vinod Khanna remained tight-lipped about his condition when he was in hospital. His funeral took place at a crematorium in Worli, Mumbai, in the evening of 27 April 2017 and was attended by a number of his contemporaries, including Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor, Ranjit and many others.

Vinod Khanna is survived by his former wife Geetanjali and their sons Akshaye and Rahul,  and his present wife Kavita and son Sakshi and daughter Shraddha.

Vinod Khanna was born on 6 October 1946 to a Punjabi family at Peshawar, now in Pakistan. Mother of Vinod Khanna was Kamla and his father was Kishanchand Khanna, a textiles, dyes and chemicals businessman.

Vinod Khanna has acted in 141 films and the most memorable films of the actor are  Mere Apne, Mera Gaon Mera Desh, Gaddaar, Jail Yatra, Imtihaan, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, Inkaar, Kuchhe Dhaage, Amar Akbar Anthony, Rajput, Qurbani, Kudrat, Dayavan, Kaarnama,Suryaa: An Awakening and Jurm.

In 1997, Vinod Khanna joined BJP.

International star actress Priyanka Chopra lands in India after wrapping up her work on 'Quantico season 2' and bagged three Bollywood films. News is that Priyanka will next be starring in a biopic based on late Indian astronaut Kalpana Chawla.

The biopic will be directed by newcomer Priya Mishra and the film will be produced by a new banner. The film is expected to be made on an international level and a new production company by the name of Gateway is most likely to back the venture.

Kalpana Chawla, was the first Indian-origin woman to enter space. She first flew on Space Shuttle Columbia in 1997 as a mission specialist and primary robotic arm operator. In 2003, Chawla was one of the seven crew members who died in the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster.

Director Shiboprosad Mukherjee said, "The idea of releasing Bengali films abroad started with Praktan. It was quite a task to convince the production house to release it abroad — they thought they will run into a huge loss if the idea didn't quite work. It was only after Babli Chakraborty of Dreamz Unlimited in LA helped us release, that we thought there was hope. Praktan was released in the US, the very next day it was released in Kolkata. The show was housefull and the film was subsequently released in 9 cities in the US and Canada."

Vishal Bhardwaj is all set to bring Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan together for his upcoming film which is based on Hussain Zaidi's book, 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai'. Deepika Padukone will play the role of Sapna Didi whose mission was to kill gangster Dawood Ibrahim.

Director Vishal Bhardwaj said, "Deepika has been asking me to write a script for her for a long time. She has heard this script and loved it. We are in an advanced stage of discussion with her."

The film is based mafia Queen Sapna Didi. Sapna Didi had planned Dawood's execution  during a cricket match in Sharjah to avenge her husband's death. Unfortunately for her, he got wind of her plans and killed her days before she could get to him. The film is expected to go on the floors by the end of 2017.

National Film Award-winning actor Rajkummar Rao will be seen playing a 324 year old man in the upcoming Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon starrer film Raabta.

In the just released trailer of film Raabta, one can spot a mysterious looking character, played by Rajkummar Rao. The film's team did 16 look test before picking the final one. Director Dinesh Vijan and Rajkumar sat along with the team over a couple of days to get the final look in place. In addition to his look, his body posture and voice modulation had to be worked upon.

Rajkummar underwent five to six hours of prosthetic everyday to get into his character. In addition to that, his styling was important. He had to wear accessories and also have tattoos.

The makers of upcoming Hindi film Tubelight released its first poster on 19 April, Wednesday morning and it has become net viral.

Salman Khan took to Twitter to share the poster, which shows his back and a bag strapped to it, and wrote, “Kya tumhe yakeen hai ? Agar tumhe yakeen hai then ‘Back his Back’.”

Crimes in India have been on a constant rise of late. As a mother, this really scares me. Sometimes, we read about horrifying incidents in the newspapers or watch these gruesome acts being discussed on television; during such times, my worst fears begin to haunt me. As a mother, a person’s thoughts are a lot different than how they would have been otherwise.

As of today, more than 34,000 rape cases are lodged every year, which is just a miniscule fraction of incidents that have actually occurred. Because of this, I am always on my guard. My blood boils when I read about people being harmed, about young boys and girls and their helpless parents.

Dear young boys, all I can tell you is STOP. Stop objectifying women. Stop looking at them like they are some kind of commodity. Stop thinking that you’re automatically entitled to the women you see around you.

Dear young girls, my heart goes out to you. When the society fails to protect you, it is important for you to understand that it’s all in your hands now. It is time to learn to voice your grievances and fight back against the men who ogle at you, pass lewd comments, and even dare to touch you inappropriately.

And lastly, I want to address the parents. It is undoubtedly crucial to teach your daughters how to defend themselves, but it is imperative that you teach your sons not to attack in the first place. The day this happens will be the day our country is truly safe for women.

India can be a haven for women only if everyone works together towards the cause. Having said this, I urge everyone – men, women and others alike – to raise their voices against such atrocities, and work towards a safer tomorrow. You wouldn’t want a nasty incident to happen to someone close to you, right? So, act today!

Bengali actress Rituparna Sengupta was in Mumbai recently to attend the premiere of Srijit Mukherji's Begum Jaan, which is the Hindi version of Bengali film Rajkahini. Rituparna played the lead role, madam of a brothel in the film. Vidya Balan played the same character in film Begum Jaan, the Hindi version of  Rajkahini. Rituparna was invited by producer Mahesh Bhatt and Vidya Balan.

Rituparna was overwhelmed bu the gesture of Vidya Balan. Ritu said "I was touched when Vidya told me, 'You are my original Begum Jaan.' Vidya too was extremely courteous — she told me that my feedback matters. Post the screening, she came and asked me whether her acting was anywhere to close to what I'd done. I told her it was phenomenal! I also met Chunky (Pandey), one of my old co-stars with whom I have delivered many hit films in Bangladesh. We watched the film together. He's done a stupendous job in the movie as did Jisshhu in Rajkahini."

Rituparna further said "One of the most touching moments was when I saw Srijit's (Mukherji) mother. It was a huge moment for her— after all, her son was making his directorial debut in Bollywood. Vidya and Gauahar are amazing in the film. Then again, we were too. I put my heart and soul in the film as did everyone else. It was a great moment for me when Vidya told me that it was big that for her to be attempting something I've done. It's heartening that Vidya, a great actress herself, feels like that about me."

Film The Mahabharata would be costliest ever film

A UAE-based Indian businessman, B R Shetty is investing Rs 1,000 crore to produce India's biggest ever motion picture, 'The Mahabharata'.

Film The Mahabharata will be produced in two parts and is scheduled to start shooting by September 2018. The film would be released in early 2020. The second part will be released within 90 days of the first.

Producer of the film, B R Shetty said "The film will be shot primarily in English, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu and will be dubbed into major Indian languages and leading foreign languages,"

Dilip Kumar makes Facebook debut

Veteran Bollywood megastar Dilip Kumar recently made his Facebook debut. The yesteryear tragedy King has posted a video of himself having tea with his wife, yesteryear actress Saira Banu.

In the video, Saira Banu is prompting Dilip Saab to say something to his fans as they sip on tea and relish biscuits along with it. After Dilip Kumar just looks intently into the camera and does not react to Banu, she stands up and places a peck on his right eye in the final moments of the video.

Dilip Kumar captioned the video as, "Irritating pain in lower back. A refreshing cup of tea is always welcome."

Shakib Khan hospitalised and Apu Biswas visits ailing Shakib

Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan  has been admitted to the Labaid Hospital in Dhaka around 12pm on 13 April Thursday with stomach problems. Shakib has been suffering from it since long and has to travel to Singapore twice a year for treatment.

May be it's the same problem but the mental pressure over the last few days may be a reason.Shakib admitted that he married Apu and fathered the son.

Apu Biswas arrived at the hospital in a Burqa with six-month-old son Abraham Khan Joy. The actress refused to speak to reporters who were at the hospital but people close to the film stars said Shakib was ‘delighted to see his son’.

Apu Biswas was asked to comment on rumours that the two planned to restart their relationship from Pahela Baishakh, the first day of the Bangla year to be celebrated on Friday.

“What is all this talk about staying together? Were we ever apart? Shakib should first return home healthy, then …” she said.

Tiger Shroff has shown his maturity by saying “I have said this before. Umm everybody has a freedom of speech of course, RGV is a senior, he has been in the industry for years, whereas I have recently entered the industry, so mann ki baat bolu toh it won’t be appropriate!”

Jackie Shroff, father of Tiger, will be seen in Ram Gopal Varma’s upcoming film Sarkar 3, said, “What can I say? My son has such an effect on some people that they leave their work to comment on my l’il cub.”

"I did not want to say anything, but people have been making a few allegations. So, I had to speak up," said Bubly.

Apu Biswas hid from public for nearly 10 months after getting pregnant. She claimed that she did so for the sake of Shakib’s career.

Shakib first came to see his son two months later after Apu returned to Bangladesh with her son. Shakib's family members also came to see the boy.
